Mary Joyner is the Founder & CEO of Flo-Jo Forever. She is also the daughter of the late and great Florence Griffith Joyner. She is a single mother, artist, entrepreneur, designer, athlete, former Gymnastics coach, and Professional Recording Artist from Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her performance on America’s Got Talent, Season 7. Mary also performed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2012. She is a Multi-Genre Singer-Songwriter, Producer, and Musician by ear. With community service and giving back to the community being at the forefront of her mind, Mary always made it a point to help others in need. Every summer & winter, she would visit her Aunt Jackie, and volunteer at her Boys & Girls Club now known as the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation in East St. Louis, Illinois. East St. Louis is where Mary’s father, Al Joyner’s side of the family is from.

With family being so dear and close to Mary’s heart, she sought to help out her household by working her first occupational job in inventory at the early age of 15 and started working at a grocery store in Mission Viejo, CA. After retiring from gymnastics she started coaching at Cal Elite Gymnastics in Orange County where she really enjoyed working with kids. In high school, she took up diving, trampoline, tennis and was placed in Varsity Track & Field as a Freshman. Her Track and Field background included the hurdles, long jump, high jump, and she was a great contender for her school’s 4x100 relay team taking after her mom. Track & Field became a lot of pressure for Mary so she turned to music as her therapy and found her new calling and gift her mother prayed for her to have in singing.

While in high school, Mary worked as the editor in chief of her yearbook staff and tested in the top percentile of the economic and financial literacy in the nations. She began training at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center with her father, who became the Head Olympic Sprint and Jump Coach for Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Shortly after, she began her new job in retail at Abercrombie & Fitch and when she graduated with her high school diploma and moved to Los Angeles, California where she focused on music & working on her career.

She continued her experience at Abercrombie & Fitch but enrolled in Santa Monica College where she got accepted to the Music Honors Program. After a successful job fair experience she got to apply to Nike where she helped open Nike Santa Monica. She excelled in her position and was chosen to speak to the emerging market conference and spoke to 7 different countries and head executives. With the balance of work, school, music and her personal life, she auditioned for America’s Got Talent where she officially had her moment to shine in her own spotlight. Following that she continued working on her solo career and also worked as an Athlete Sales Associate at Nike Running Fashion Valley. With this diverse background in both sports & retail, she was inspired to create a brand of her won in memory of her mother’s legendary career in sports, fashion, and entertainment. Mary created Flo-Jo Forever to continue her mother’s legacy and start her own foundation which she had envisioned at an early age. With the launch of her own company, she was able to make her vision come to life and keep her mothers works alive.
